Art Class Field Trip to Batik Shaho Factory

Celebrating National Batik day in Indonesia, our class joined kindergarten, grade 1 and grade 2 students doing a field trip to Batik Shaho factory on Tuesday, 7 October 2014. We were so excited doing our first field trip. Pak Tono, the batik guru, showed us the tools needed to create a beautiful piece of batik. He also taught us how to color our batik pieces. That day, we did two batik pieces, a pencil case for each student and a square piece which is part of our school collaborative batik quilt. We had a great day.

Welcome to Batik Shaho Factory.

We can use Q-tips or paintbrush to add color
to our batik piece.

Let's make our quilts colorful.
