Do you wanna build a snowman?

Brrrrrrr! Although we live so close to the equator line, it was a very cold week in Pre-K 3 class. The kids were busy doing so many activities related to our season: winter unit. They built snowman using play dough, upcycled socks into Olaf the snowman in Frozen, drew body parts of the snowman, put on hat and counted correct numbers of buttons for the snowman, sewed and hung the mittens, made some paper and popsicle sticks snowflakes and many more.

For our science activity this week, the kids worked together on a special mission to save the Penguins of Madagascar who trapped in the icebergs. Before saving the penguins, they had to make some hypothesis whether the warm water or the cold water which can save the penguins faster.

Testing the water temperature

Carefully pouring the water into the icebergs

I saved Skipper!

Run, run as fast as you can! You can't catch me. I'm the Gingerbread Man! Yup! We made some gingerbread man cookies this week. The kids, as usual, enjoyed every single step taken in making the cookies. Their most favorite step of course, tasting their delicious gingerbread cookies.

We mixed all the wet ingredients

We also mixed all the dry ingredients and
added them to the wet ingredients

We rolled the dough

We carefully cut the dough

After baking them, our cookies were ready for icing

Voila! Our delicious gingerbread man Cookies

Yummmmmm...

At the end of the week, the kids got good opportunity to practice their shopping skills both in English and bahasa Indonesia. The prepared their own shopping bags, then went to the bazaar to buy some stuffs for their family members and for themselves. Some of the kids, even brought some new pets home :)
