May 11-13, 2015

Choo... Choo... Oh no! Long weekend is over. Hopefully you had a well-deserved quality time with your family and friends. For those who are still on extended long weekend holiday, enjoy it and have a safe trip back to Balikpapan.

Happy (delayed) Mother's Day, Antonina! Hope your family spoilt you on that special day and days after that.

Up! Up! Up! The hot air balloons are flying high. We started our transportation unit by doing this art activity. Using their fingers, the kids decorated the white cupcake liners for the hot air balloon envelopes. After that, they drew some clouds on white paper and cut around them. They also cut brown square paper and drew lines on them for the hot air ballon baskets. Then they glued the clouds, the balloons and the basket to blue paper. Using black sharpie markers, they added lines for the hot air balloons cords and added their self-portrait drawing as the final touch.

It was a pleasure to watch the kids worked hard with their classmates to put all the jigsaw puzzle pieces together. More than just doing a game, there a lot of things learnt at the same time. Check this link (http://teach.com/education-technology/the-benefits-of-puzzles-in-early-childhood-development) for your own reference.

Yup! It was only a 3-day week, but the kids did a lot of things to fill it up. They cut different type of lines, recognized the smallest and the biggest means of transportations on each group and sorted means of transportation by colors.

Woop woop! Swimming unit for PE class was over. Last Wednesday, the kids had their last swimming class. Starting from tomorrow, the kids will go back to the gym to train their gross motor skills.
